Opulent mouthfeel with firm tannins, and a palate adorned with white chocolate, leather, and pepper. As the only AVA dedicated to Syrah, Ballard Canyon AVA has emerged as the “home” of Syrah in America. Aged 22 months in 38% new French oak and 62% neutral French oak barrel. 170 cases produced.
From an epic vintage that saw excellent results across Santa Barbara, the 2014 Syrah is a generous wine with ample depth and complexity that is showing beautifully this moment in time. Dark fruit layers with blackberry confit are stacked tall with cured tobacco and exotic spice.
